After reviewing the data we have collected over the past couple weeks, we have decided to start the school year on Wednesday, August 26 in Phase 1 – Home Learning.
Learn More About MEADOWLARK:
Meadowlark School, Boulder Valley School District’s first school in Erie, Colorado, serves students in PK through 8th grade. The school is a dynamic learning environment organized into five learning communities: PK-K, 1st-2nd, 3rd-4th, 5th-6th, and 7th-8th. Flexible grouping arrangements and project/problem-based learning are core tenets in creating challenging, meaningful and engaging learning opportunities for all students. The innovative educational spaces provided in the building’s footprint promote collaboration and partnerships for all stakeholders. Personalized learning is the foundational principle of the learning community model. Staff work in collaboration with students, family and the community to support social, emotional, physical, and academic growth. A key priority will be ensuring the needs of all students are met.
We are extending the deadline to Sunday, July 26 to let us know if your student is opting out of in-person learning – we wanted to provide a little more information about what Phase 3 will look like at each level
Given the current situation with COVID-19 here in Boulder and Broomfield counties, our local public health agencies feel that it is possible to open schools, as long as students are kept in small consistent socially-distanced groups. As a result, we are planning to start the school year a week later than planned in Phase 3, unless the situation worsens significantly.
