GENERAL MUSIC

Kristen Lewis and Trevor Mariotti teach General Music to our Mavs in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. We emphasize the Orff-Schulwerk philosophy of music education and are guided by the Colorado Department of Education Music Standards.  Mrs. Lewis teaches a before-school choir for any interested students in the 3-4LC. We love sharing music and movement with our students! In the 2023-2024 school year, we are joined by Rachel Cauley, Music Teacher of Coal Creek Elementary, to help us with our fourth grade classes. 

CHOIR

Kristen Lewis teaches Choir for students in the 5-6 and 7-8 Learning Communities. At the 7-8th grade level, Choir meets daily, a huge and exciting change for our older students in the 2023-2024 school year. Events to look forward to this year include an overnight retreat to Estes Park at the YMCA in October, concerts in December and May, and the Elitch Gardens Contest and field trip in the spring.
